A naff name for a reasonably good FPS game.

Wolfteam is an online multi-player FPS (First Person Shooter) game, and when you start, you will see there are over 35 primary weapons you can use. This is fairly unusual for a FPS game, especially one that you play online. If anything, it shows at least that the developers have put a lot of time into the game, especially when you see how each gun looks and feels different, sounds different, has a different recoil and has a different effect. It is understandable if some hardcore gamers are under-whelmed by Wolfteam because they are used to better things, but it is unfair to call it a bad game.

You Can Upgrade The Weapons

The game itself it great fun to play. For example, when you regenerate because you died, then you can change your weapon if you are playing things such as the death match; this adds to the variety. However, one of the best things after you have been playing for a while is the fact you can upgrade your weapons. As you grow and build your experience, you upgrade your favourite weapons and hone your skills.

A Generic Soundtrack That Isn’t Bad

It is the sort of soundtrack you may hear on a cheap movie or in something Michael Bay directed. The gunfire sounds are good and a few of the sound effects are pretty realistic, but they are nothing to write home about.

Turn Into A Wolf Man

As you play the game you can be a wolf man or a human, and you can switch from one to the other very quickly. If you play as a human, then you can play with the weapons you have selected. If you are a wolf man, then you cannot play with guns, but you have a very strong melee attack and you can climb walls and such. If you are playing a death match, then you can cautiously move from place to place with your gun nervously shaking in your hand, or you can jump from the buildings and sky onto your unsuspecting victims.

There Are Lots Of Modes

The death match has been mentioned numerous times in this review because it is the easiest to jump right into with just a moment’s notice, but there are plenty of modes you can play in. Also, if you are playing against other people and they become accustomed to playing as a wolf, whip out your shotgun and let them run towards you. You can make several kills in just a few minutes by exploiting the fact that some people have grown comfortable playing as the wolf.

  • Great online gameplay
  • New and innovative ideas
  • Well developed features
  • The developers have put a lot of time into the game
  • Seems to play fairly (unless you play with a hacker)

  • Hackers still exist despite the developer‘s efforts
  • Some people expect better graphics
  • The game could use a little more blood
